Named to ESSENCE Magazine’s list of 100 Woke Women, Edda is an expert communications and strategic advisor. Edda helps organizations create and communicate value at the nexus of media, politics and technology. She has developed cultural programming for health care systems, tech startups and member service organizations, managed direct action advocacy campaigns, and connected high profile leaders with the public through digital and traditional media.

Edda’s experience and love of politics led to the creation of the All In Together Campaign, a non-partisan women’s organization committed to closing the gaps in politics to advance the progress of women’s civic leadership. In addition to keynote presentations at the Mom2.0 Summit and the Virginia Women’s Conference, her work and insights on social justice and women in politics have been featured in Forbes, Refinery29, OZY, The Hill and The DailyWorth.

Edda served as a gubernatorial appointee to the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth, where she was appointed by Governors Mark Warner (D), Tim Kaine (D) and Bob McDonnell (R), respectively. Edda is committed to a number of community, social impact and civic organizations including Facing History and the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture. In an effort to enhance diversity throughout each organization of a business, Bernard has a successful track record of driving effective and measured engagement, diversity and inclusion programs in people program areas such as human resources, talent recruitment, analytics, marketing, communications, and employee branding.

Bernard is a frequent speaker at conferences and events worldwide and has written for Forbes, Catalyst and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
